Bologna - Day 11

Day 11 - Friday - Today is a religious holiday in Italy.  Bus service is scaled back like it is on Sunday and many of the family-owned store fronts are closed for the day.  As was the case last Sunday, the streets around the Piazza Maggiore are closed off and are walking boulevards for the day -- so we walked around.......and had an early lunch.

One of the two towers.

We were going to walk up this tower and started to the first landing where there was an entrance fee to go up the 485 or so stairs.  We got so dizzy going up, we came back down.  Look how steep the stairs are.....

Did some looking and not much buying.

Had gelatto -- mixed this time.  Usually get just the one flavor, but it seems that here they mix two flavors, probably because the flavor of each is so intense.

More walking.

This is the oldest storefront in Bologna.

They now sell tortellini to go!

Saw some street musicians playing in a portico and the sound was amazing; you could hear it all through the square.
