Bologna Day 9

Day 9 - Wednesday - Another slow day as 100% rain is predicted.  We did some souvenir shopping and got rid of the trash.  There are large bottle and can depositories around the corner of most streets and, as I mentioned before, the trash boxes out front which seem to be emptied each night or early morning.  Places to put cardboard, too. Good to see so much recycling being done. After the “chores” were accomplished, we set out to find a lunch spot.

After we sat down, we realized it was a German (Italian) restaurant.

Was it something we said?

I went with the local fare --

Menu said salada -- I wasn't sure what the wurst was but it was wurst with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes (salad, huh?)

but Allan couldn’t hold out any longer and got a cheeseburger!

 9:4.jpg

Lynn got the Caesar salad.

Saw another church -- there is a church around every corner.

9:8.jpg

And some window pictures.......

9:6.jpg

Window with cat (there has been a cat in a window of every Italian city we've been in).

9:7.jpg

Did some more window shopping then stopped in to get some wine.  Used the self-checkout (but, I have to confess, it had English prompts) and it was as easy as home.

 9:9.jpg

As mentioned in an earlier post, we have a multi-lock and key system to get to our 3rd floor apartment........

9:10.jpg

Main entryway off the street.

 9:11.jpg

Door two, just inside the main entryway.

9:12.jpg

Door 3, just up the stairs from door #2.

9:13.jpg

At this point, you choose either the elevator........

9:14.jpg

.......or the stairs -- 66 of them!

9:15.jpg

Gated door to our apartment.
