Bologna Day 7

Day 7 - Monday - Trip to Ferrara, the UNESCO Heritage site.  Took the bus to the central station and from there took the train to Ferrara. Purchased the train tix at a kiosk -- couldn’t be simpler.

The train we took was the milk run so it took about 45 minutes.

From the train station, we walked about 20 minutes to the center of the old town which is highlighted by the Castello Estense.  Unfortunately, all the castles and museums were closed on Mondays.  Note to self: check this out next time visiting for a day. There certainly was enough to see from the outside, though and I will let the pictures illuminate our wonderful day in Ferrara -- including the luncheon pictures, of course.

Inside the park you cold hardly hear the street noise -- what an oasis.

Returned via the 30 minute train and bus back to the apartment to pick up some needed staples. Found a cafe across the street from the apartment so we picked up sandwiches for supper -- no one felt like cooking tonight. -- Donna
