Euro Ski Trips

In March 2004 we went to Kitzbuhl & Salzburg, Austria. It was a great trip. To see the photos check out the Kitz Trip link. This March, 2005 we were in Bormio & Milan, Italy. We will be posting photos from that trip soon.

March 2006 we are back to Austria & skiing the Tiefenbach and Rettenbach, the high glaciers of Solden. We will be staying at the Hotel Grauer Baer**** which is a few steps to the Gaislachkogelbahn Talstation.

Ski the Big 3 Rallye -- a chronologically arranged sequence of lifts and slopes planned to aid the skier in skiing 2 glacier areas and an additional 3000M peak. The route is lined with enticing sun terraces, meeting places to stop for a chat, restaurants and panorama platforms offering fabulous views. By the time you’ve completed the course (which can be accomplished in one day or less, depending on skiing ability), you will have covered approximately a 50 K course.

Solden is a vibrant international ski resort par excellence. The key to its skiing success is the utter dependability of the snow in the Oztal Arena. Its unique situation means masses of snow arrive on cue each winter; with 22 lifts serving a lovely range of slopes for all abilities. But just to underline the fact that snow is assured, there is skiing on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers with a well-planned system of 10 ski lifts. This means that the season is in full swing here while many other resorts are still waiting for snow to arrive. In autumn, it is a training Mecca for National ski teams to train - and for anyone who can’t wait to get back on skis. The villages have a great range of apres ski, and the well-equipped sport center can take care of any excess energy.
